Editorial policy

What we list

Grass Fed Directory lists farms and ranches that raise beef, lamb, pork, poultry, eggs and dairy on pasture and sell direct to the public. Production claims are shown as stated by the farm.

Where listings come from

Every listing starts from a public source: the business's own website, an organizer's site, a government or extension page or a reputable directory. Each listing links to its source. See all of them on the sources page.

Confidence ratings

We rate each listing High (the business's own current site or an organizer's site), Medium (a reputable directory, or the business's site with gaps) or Low (an old or aggregator listing). We publish only High and Medium listings. Low listings stay hidden until we confirm them.

Addresses

We show a street address only when the business publishes it for visitors, such as a farm stand, u-pick field or market. We never publish a home address that the business has not made public.

Claims

Terms such as grass fed, grass finished, pasture raised and organic are shown as stated by the farm. We do not verify certifications unless we link to the certifier's own public record.

Corrections

If something is wrong, report a problem. We review every report and fix or remove listings that we cannot confirm.
